The Pretty Ring Time

Themes of youth and young love are explored in this programme -  in the subject matter and also in the choice of some early works by child prodigy composers.  Fanny Mendelssohn's delightfully tuneful songs start us off, followed by beautiful love songs by Erich Korngold and some Brahms favourites.  A selection from Lili Boulanger's extraordinarily expressive. ‘Clairières dans le ciel’ and a set of charming songs by Chausson complete the programme.
